How it works

From a knowledge check to confident mastery of a topic

Four steps that repeat until the topic is complete. Below is what happens at each step and what it looks like in a real example.

From a goal to specific knowledge the student has truly mastered.

StudyNinja works out what needs to be covered, builds a path out of connected methods, guides the student through short lessons and saves the result of every step.

  1. 1

We find exactly what needs work

StudyNinja doesn’t work with labels like “bad at math.” Depending on the goal, the system identifies the specific topics and methods that need work. A short check helps single out individual gaps instead of sending the student off to review the whole subject.

For exampleA student makes mistakes in quadratic equations. The check shows that it’s worth going back to factoring first.

  2. 2

We build a path out of concrete steps

Knowledge is linked in a chain: topic → skill → method → example. So a big topic becomes not one long lesson but a sequence of specific methods that the student goes through one after another.

For exampleInstead of the goal “learn quadratic equations,” the student gets separate steps: factoring, solving with the discriminant, checking the roots.

  3. 3

We work through each step and practice it right away

A single method goes through four stages: theory → walkthrough → practice → reflection. First the student understands the solution method, then tries it together with the system, and after that solves problems independently.

For exampleFirst StudyNinja shows how to solve an equation using the discriminant. Then the student works through a similar problem together with the AI tutor and solves a few examples on their own.

  4. 4

We check mastery and move on

A completed lesson doesn’t just get a check mark. The system records how confidently the method has been mastered, how many attempts it took and when the student last practiced. After a successful final practice, the next step opens.

For exampleThe student solves the final discriminant problems correctly. The method gets a confirmed status, the next step opens, and the result counts toward other goals too.

What’s inside

We store not just topics, but common mistakes too

An ordinary textbook is a list of topics. Here, each topic comes with worked examples, solution methods and — separately — the places where students get confused most often. We check for those specifically instead of waiting for them to show up on a test.

A total of 10,038 entries in the database

  • 7,708worked examplesproblems with a complete solution
  • 1,099solution methodshow to approach a problem

Questions about how it works

The system looks at the learning goal and the student’s results and identifies the specific topics and solution methods needed for that goal.

The first knowledge check shows which topics are getting in the way of moving forward and builds a plan around exactly those.
