Grade 5 is still arithmetic, but now with fractions and percentages. This is exactly where the first gaps appear that later get in the way in algebra: they are easier to close now than three years from now.
Scope of preparation
More than half of the solution methods are arithmetic — 56 of 101. There isn’t much algebra yet, and that’s fine: this year is about confident calculation, fractions and percentages.
The numbers are counted across the topics available in grade 5: the year’s curriculum plus everything it builds on. A solution method can belong to several sections at once, so the section values should not be added up into a total.

11 topics are introduced in grade 5 itself. Each one builds on what came before — that is why the count above shows 101 solution methods: it also includes the necessary foundation from earlier years.

Lessons, exercises and the tutor’s explanations on the platform are in Russian and follow the Russian school curriculum. The platform interface is available in English.
On the contrary, this is the cheapest moment. Fractions, percentages and operations with numbers are what all of algebra will rest on two years from now. A gap closed in grade 5 costs one or two lessons; the same gap found in grade 9, before the OGE exam, drags a dozen topics along with it.
With a knowledge check. It is done once and, instead of a grade, shows a list of topics that still have gaps — including those left over from earlier years. The plan is then built around them.
Go back to it rather than move on. Topics are connected: the next one can’t be mastered until the previous one is. The platform finds the earliest topic that still has a gap and starts from there, not from the current textbook section.
One lesson is about ten minutes. On a regular day, one or two are enough. There’s no rigid schedule: the plan adapts to what has already been covered.
For some it will, for others it won’t. The platform covers what a tutor usually doesn’t have enough hours for: it looks for the cause of the mistake, keeps the topics in order and explains the same thing as many times as needed. If having a real person alongside matters to the student, one doesn’t get in the way of the other.
If the accounts are linked — sessions, completed topics and progress through the plan. There are no grades or reports of failures there.
